ServeNext Organizers 2010

Kike Aluko - ServeNext Bay Area, CA

Kike is currently a Program Associate in the Entertainment Media Partnerships Program at Kaiser Family Foundation, where she works on sexual health information campaigns with large media companies. She graduated from Stanford in 2009 with a degree in Psychology and a Minor in Music, Science, and Technology. Originally from Charlotte, NC, she is passionate about music, education, and health, and hopes to use her career to make a positive impact in those three areas.


Ryan Kloberdanz - ServeNext Denver, CO

Ryan lives in Denver, Colorado where he works for the U.S. Forest Service as a Public Affairs Officer. He is a recent graduate of The University of Colorado-Denver, where he earned his Master's in Public Administration. Originally hailing from West Des Moines, Iowa, Ryan graduated from the University of Iowa with degrees in Political Science and Journalism. Upon graduation, Ryan joined Teach for America and taught sixth grade social studies in Phoenix, AZ at Pueblo del Sol Middle School.

Ryan's interest in national service began in September 2007, when he picked up TIME Magazine and read Richard Stengel's cover story "A Case for National Service". Since that time, Ryan has aspired to combine his education and experiences into a lifelong mission and career propagating the growth of national service in America.

Tara Krueger-Bordenaro - ServeNext Des Moines, IA

Tara graduated in May 2009 from Augustana College in Rock Island, IL. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish and Business Administration, along with concentrations in Management and Marketing and a Psychology minor. She performed a year of service as an Iowa Campus Compact AmeriCorps* VISTA member at Coe College in Cedar Rapids, IA where she worked in the Service-Learning office, increasing volunteer rates among students. Currently she attends Iowa State University where she is studying to receive her Master's degree in Higher Education.


Monie Hayes - ServeNext Mt. Pleasant, IA

Monie has a Ph.D. in Language, Literacy, and Culture from The University of Iowa -- where she also earned her M.A. and B.A. in English Education (go, Hawks). After teaching a range of undergraduate courses in a variety of institutional contexts since the late '90s, she is happily teaching composition part-time for Kirkwood Community College in Cedar County, Iowa. When she is not in the classroom or on the road, Monie is an active member of the Henry County, Iowa, Democrats Central Committee.



Patti Kurtz - ServeNext Chicago, IL

Patti lives and works in Chicago, where she started her career in advertising. She is an Account Executive at a private firm downtown and works on developing brand messaging and integrated campaigns for clients. Patti has played an integral role of helping her company develop their Corporate Social Responsibility Committee to promote service and giving back to the community. In the past year, Patti has also taken on the role of co-Chapter President of the AmeriCorps Alumni Chicago chapter.

Prior to working in Chicago, Patti did AmeriCorps*National Civilian Community Corps at the Sacramento campus. In her year, she was lucky enough to have projects with the Sacramento Food Bank and Family Services, Habitat for Humanity - Slidell, LA & St. Bernard Parish, LA, and Hands On New Orleans. Patti graduated from Michigan State University with a B.S. in International Studies and a B.S. Spanish.

Tiffany Zapico - ServeNext New Orleans, LA

Tiffany is originally from Bloomfield, New Jersey. Upon graduation from college she joined the AmeriCorps NCCC as a Corps Member in Class XIII and served a second year as a Team Leader for Class XIV at the Western Region Campus. During this time, Tiffany began her efforts working throughout the Gulf Coast on various projects one year post-hurricane Katrina. She developed a deep appreciation for the community and a love and commitment for the region. After graduating from the AmeriCorps NCCC she worked on staff with Teach For America as the Assistant to the Executive Director in Washington, D.C. Within 8 months she decided to return to the Gulf as a Teach For America corps member in New Orleans, LA. She is currently completing her second year as a special education teacher in New Orleans at Abramson Science and Technology Charter School. Tiffany is also a member of the AmeriCorps NCCC Advisory Board and the Chapter Leader for the New Orleans AmeriCorps Alumni Chapter. She loves sushi, service, road trips, anything Italian, and seeing live music!

Aisha Dew - ServeNext Charlotte, NC

Aisha is committed to both the arts for social awareness and political activism for community advancement. Dew, a graduate of Salem College with a BA in Arts Administration, is an actress, director, producer and community advocate who also received training in acting/theater from Wake Forest University and Yale University School of Drama. She was a Congressional Intern for Congressman Mel L. Watt – House of Representatives District Twelve in Charlotte, NC. Ms. Dew founded the Hall Neighborhood House Performing Arts Program in Bridgeport CT, which exposed more than ten thousand children and parents to the arts as audience members and active participants over a five-year period. She was also the Regional Director of Wolf Trap Early Learning through the Arts for the state of Connecticut. Wolf Trap, the only national park dedicated to the arts, is located in Vienna Virginia (outside of Washington, DC) and has more than 20 affiliate programs around the country. She is a graduate of the United Way of Eastern Fairfield County's Project Blueprint (2003) and is the recipient of the Greater Bridgeport NAACP Special Service Award (2004).

Njeri Fikes - ServeNext Fayetteville, NC

Njeri has over 20 years experience in community organizing and public relations. A Public Relations major at Howard University and NC State University, Njeri has used her PR training to work in both the private sector as well as numerous political campaigns. Currently a Site Coordinator for an education nonprofit, she has developed a successful girls program and seeks to empower both her students and their families. A military spouse and the mother of two daughters, she works to encourage her teenager and other youth to get engaged in their community.


Daniele Monroe-Moreno - ServeNext Las Vegas, NV

Daniele has been blessed with three awesome daughters and a very patient and loving husband. Employed in Law Enforcement for just over twenty years as a Corrections Officer, she started her career in Phoenix, Arizona and is now employed with the North Las Vegas Police Department.

Daniele serves as a Commissioner with the Clark County School District Board of Trustee's Attendance & Zoning Commission. She is a member of the Las Vegas Centennial Optimist Club and has been elected to serve as Zone Lt. Governor for the Pacific Southeast District of Optimist International. Previously, Daniele served on the planning committee of the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life, North Las Vegas. Seeing a growing need to assist local families battling Childhood Cancer, she and members of NLV Relay and Optimist formed Ride 4 Relay Kids, a non-profit Motorcycle Poker Run for Childhood Cancer.
