In 2012, ServeNext will have 8 full time Organizers advocating for the expansion of national service. The application deadline for the 2012 Organizer position has passed and we are no longer accepting applications.

ServeNext Organizers are tasked with two main goals:
1. Unite and organize national service stakeholders in their district/state to form a ServeNext Network. Stakeholders include AmeriCorps alumni, Senior Corps members, leaders of service organizations, service recipients, corporate partners, teachers, and more.
Responsibilities include:
- Building and managing a Network of 25-50 active members led by a leadership council of 5-10 highly committed people.
- Developing a larger membership for mass mobilization at key times both online and in person.
- Communicating regularly with key service leaders to maximize collaboration.
- Recruiting existing stakeholders who have not been advocating for national service as well as new allies.
- Attending and speaking at relevant events to recruit new members and update the community.
2. Mobilize the local ServeNext Network to win support for AmeriCorps, Senior Corps, and the entire Corporation for National and Community Service (CNCS).
Responsibilities include:
- Planning and executing ongoing actions including petition drives, rallies, flooding congressional phone lines, and more.
- Attending town hall meetings and other events to highlight the impact of national service to the local community and politicians.
- Coordinating local meetings with members of Congress and/or their staff to educate them on the critical work being done by national service programs.
- Organizing site visits to local service organizations with members of Congress and/or their staff.
- Generating local media highlighting the impact of national service with letter-to-the-editor campaigns, developing relationships with local reporters, and submitting press releases.
