Fight the Zero to Protect AmeriCorps
Together, we sent a clear and powerful message to Congressional leaders:
Do not eliminate AmeriCorps!
November 3 was the Fight the Zero rally in Washington, DC. Nearly 100 people gathered on Capitol Hill early one morning where we engaged about 30 members of Congress, hundreds of their staff members, and thousands of others walking by. Online, thousands more participated in the social media rally.
The next few weeks are make-or-break as Congress hashes out the budget. If we’re quiet, we’re in trouble. But if we’re vocal in calling to Save AmeriCorps, we have a chance.
While we don’t know how things will play out in Congress, we do know that sitting on the sidelines will increase the chances of elimination or major cuts. There’s still a closing window of time to act. We’re doing everything we can and hope you join us – the more people, the better chance we have to win support for AmeriCorps.
