ServeNext Wins Pepsi Refresh Project Grant!
In February, ServeNext.org won a $50,000 grant in the Pepsi Refresh Project based on public votes! We appreciate everyone who voted for us throughout the month and we’re now preparing to use the grant effectively.
We will be using the funds to launch an ambitious grassroots field program to advance national service, AmeriCorps, and social innovation. The core of this program will be 10 Community Organizers who ServeNext will train and support so that more community members and key leaders serve and understand the impact of service in each of the 10 locations.
In the coming months, we’ll be looking for entrepreneurial individuals who are passionate about citizen service and community change to apply to be ServeNext Community Organizers. Ideal applicants will be committed both to direct service and to the larger service movement that includes recruiting more people serve and engaging key leaders to see the impact of great service organizations, as well as the ability to organize fellow community residents to help. The 10 locations where we select the Community Organizers will depend on a few factors, but most importantly finding the right people. The positions will be paid and 20 hours per week for six months.
We’re in the process of designing the details of the program, including key dates, application guidelines, training curriculum, program goals, partnership development, and much more. If you’re interested in receiving email updates about the program, please sign-up here.
We are also looking for organizational partners and mentors for each Community Organizer. While we do not yet know the locations for the Organizers, if you or your organization is interested in partnering with ServeNext, please let us know here.
